Bob's a pistol man. He's trying his
best to wear out a Barnes Chaparral 25 and tells me he hasn't
put a dent in it in about 12K rounds. He's got more pistols than
enough, and tells me he knows a good one when he shoots it. He's
sold on Barnes.
Bob's planning a Jan. or Feb. invitational
Pistol shoot for the Barnes Homestead family. You can pick any
month of the year and find a real good excuse for not planning
something. Bob's picked Jan/Feb precisely because it's the drab
time of the year. Everybody's got cabin fever by then and needs
something to be excited about.
We're only looking for a core group
to start the concept. It will be a Sat/Sun function. A "show
and tell and shoot".
The same motel/hotels as were used
for SS4 apply (while this small group may or may not warrant discount
rates). This is NOT on the grounds of SS4. It's in the same general
area - Corbin, Kentucky ... but has nothing to do with CVSL.
Who's interested? Who will take home
the "Erwin Cup" for 05? Yes - Of course I'll be there
- wouldn't miss it! ... Lon sent me this pic this morning of
some 'Ornery Varmint" he snapped at SS4. (Just as a side note. On the benches there, you see
[right to left], Lon's Ranger Delta 32 magnum, Cecil's Ranger
Delta 32 prototype, Cecil's Ranger Delta 32, and [left of the
varmint] the buttstock of my Yukon 58GS. I'm holding Julio's 45
Hoss and Bob's Chaparral 25. That's Julio and Jeff in the background.
Clarification 11-7-04. This
is sort of a "Reverse Invitational". You just have to
be interested in spending the weekend with everyone enjoying air
pistols ... especially Barnes air pistols. We'll have a few for
you to shoot. We know yours is most likely on the ledger and you
don't have it yet ;?)
Bob's unaware of who
you may be so - you won't be getting an invitation in the mail.
He's asked me to collect your comments and requests to be included
in our weekend Pistol Invitational. We now have a couple of confirmed guests. Let us know
asap if you'd care to join us.
